I’ve been in a hard season of life where I’ve been very close to walking away from God. I needed something that wasn’t toxic positivity (I’m already an optimist by nature, so if I’m dispairing, it’s bad), but also not self-righteous woe-is-me suffering. This book strikes a mature balance between the two, gently helping you acknowledge the grief in your life and through scripture and reflection, find ways to learn how to live with it.
Although one of the reviews says it’s not for loss and I’m sure for her story it probably wasn’t a season to read this I do believe it can be for other mothers including miscarriages. I found this book after my second miscarriage and I felt God met me at every page. Gave me hope and really made me think and talk to God. The questions were keep and made my time with the God so intimate and I now keep the book on display because it’s was a special time reading that and the book itself is so pretty. I always recommend this book to anything who is grieving something.
I’m writing this review in hopes to save another mom some pain. But if you have recently lost your child, this book is NOT for us. I got this book after I lost my 6 month old daughter. I’m sure the author has all sorts of good intentions but she speaks of finding a lot of hope in her child, in words that felt just cruel to my broken momma heart. This definitely needs some sort of warning or caveat in the description that this is not helpful for child loss. Other than that I’m sure it’s great for other forms of grief
This was such a beautifully written book and it came at such a perfect time in the season I’m walking in.
I can tell this devotional is going to help me with the grieving of my mom. I'm only on week one, but so far it's been great!
Week 1 and already grateful that I purchased. Beautifully made! Came quick!
Love it
I cried my eyes out, but Such a beautiful read. 10/10
