I have been a Christian for over sixty years. I was raised in the church and in a family that took God and the Bible very seriously. I have a master's degree in Historical Theology. You might say I am well-studied in Scripture. Perhaps. I have learned over the years, that one is never fully studied when it comes to God. Knowing God is more than academics and good habits. It is, and has always been, a relationship between God and His people.
At almost seventy, I sometimes lose sight of the wonder of God that was so integral to my childhood and early adulthood. Life is a habit that too often gets in the way. Alicia Hamilton’s Wonder gently reminds me again of the intimacy and awe of God.
There is a quiet here, settling into these seven psalms, that awakens a tired soul.
There is a strength in her structured, yet simple seven-week study that keeps my awe biblically connected, theologically sound, and with a focus that properly refocuses all my attention away from myself and on to God. I also appreciate the included Bible Toolkit. The Toolkit is an excellent reference guide for those who are new to the Bible or would like to explore the Bible more carefully.
I highly recommend Wonder and the accompanying Bible Toolkit for both individual and small group Bible study.
A refreshing treat!
Sitting down with “Wonder” in my hands is like starting the day in a cozy place with my favorite coffee and confection. The
insights are compelling and the questions lead you to an intimate realization of the wonder and love of God. I can’t think of a more appropriate way
to begin one’s day!
