God Our Home by Katie Noble

I absolutely love this book. Love the texture of the cover how it makes me think draws me closer to God and I love the title.

I saw a couple of negative comments about how this uses Lectio. I’m confused at why this would be a problem and unbiblical. I know this is taught in Catholic schools but it is only a way to study scripture and encourages you to pray that God reveals what he wants you to know about the scripture and how you can apply it in your life. It’s very helpful. It’s not too far from using the SOAP method that I see everywhere. Don’t let negative reviews saying it is unbiblical scare you from getting this.

I just finished a group Bible study using God Our Home and I was blown away by this book. I’ve never deeply read any of the gospels and this book made it super easy to dive into the gospel of John. I loved how Katie made so many connections to other books in the Bible and referenced both Old and New Testament works. I would recommend this Bible study all day long.

This book strengthened my faith in more ways I could have ever imagined. I am so blessed to have read this and had a community of women to read alongside with. The deep levels of thought provoking questions really pushed me out of my comfort zone and to expand my knowledge on the Bible and I am forever grateful for that! I would highly recommend this book! Beautifully written and thoughtfully created!

Just finished up this study with a group of amazing women! This was my first ever Bible Study, and I think the book of John is the perfect first study to go through. My favorite part about this study was all the connections to the Old Testament and really seeing how the whole Bible comes together. Katie’s questions really make you stop and think, and dig deeper into the meaning of the story. I would recommend this study to anyone who is just starting out their faith to learn the love of Jesus, or someone who has read these stories 1,000 times gain a deeper understanding!

Grateful that this study has allowed my faith to grow, and given me a community of God loving women! ❤️

We were able to ask questions and receive guidance on the study and the study is so well written and explained. My relationship with god is forever changed.

Loved using this book in our group Bible Study! I was starting new and didn’t know much about the book of John but Katie went into such great detail and the questions created good conversations. Would definitely recommend!

My bible study group just spent the last year reading the Gospel of John and completing this devotional - and I think for the rest of my life, I'll remember how much of an impact this year has had on my spiritual growth. The familiar stories of John, that I had read (some, several times) before, have much deeper meaning and root in my heart now!

As a leader of this group, I highly recommend completing this study SLOWLY (and intentionally), alongside a community. Ours was made up of seasoned and brand new believers, and it allowed us to see how God welcomes all of us into his kingdom, and uses our unique stories and experiences to encourage us to learn from one another. Though I would consider the questions to be a bit beyond novice level, Katie does a great job of connecting the Gospel of John to the overarching narrative of the Bible, cross referencing many Old Testament scriptures; helping you understand the importance of, and how to study the historical context; and she invites you to pray and reflect often - all of which have equipped me to walk away with more confidence in biblical literacy, ready to apply these study skills to future texts and devotionals.
