It took a while to get, but this is great!
I loved how this Bible study broke out daily scripture and devotionals into an applicable way for my life. It was a great Bible study to do with a good friend. I would highly recommend!
I think of this study guide very specifically. This is not really meant for beginners. I think it is to rethink how we pray in the manner of which Jesus really was clear on how to pray. I found a great joy in deep mindfulness. Reminds me we need to SELAH. I think per each chapter I learned so much more. And I would recommend this to everyone.
I loved this study! I felt the Lord has continued to press the Lord’s prayer on my heart and has shown it to me a multitude of times since starting it! I really recommend:)
I have been through this study twice now and I plan to do it again. The first time was for personal study, and the second time I went through it with a co-ed group. I especially love the pacing of the study. Each week is only ONE line of the Lord's prayer- for a whole week. It provides so much space/ time to process and really uncover what the Lord has for you in each line. There is so much to learn-- I guess that's why Jesus gave us this prayer as a tool!
I LOVE the author's writing style- I would read anything she comes out with - I already got a copy of her next study God Our Home that I plan to read soon! She provides thought provoking questions for contemplation. I can't say enough good things about this study- it has been transformative to my prayer life, and the perfect study companion in times of drought.
I LOVED THIS STUDY! I'm in a small group with some other moms of littles, and Pray Like This was such a gift to us. The days of study are short (easy to do in about 10-15 minutes), which felt necessary for most of us who can't guarantee we will have time for much more than that. Although short, this study gave me truth to cling to and practical prayers each day. I loved going line by line through the Lord's Prayer and feel like I'm walking away knowing the love, power, care, and, provision of our Father so much deeper.
Very nice to go through
When this book came out, I was so excited for a rebuff on the Lords Prayer. And while the first few days went okay, and there were some practices that were very helpful, most (and I mean MOST) of the chapters I was so confused. I could not figure out what the author meant to say or what she meant for me to think. I would walk away from a chapter more frustrated and confused than filled by the spirit. Regardless, I pushed forward with teaching my small group this stufy, thinking “maybe I don’t understand this, but maybe the girls will get it!” Nope. They where loving some of the chapters, but most of the time we had to reword study questions or having to completely disregard a question because none of them (me included) could figure out what the author wanted to say. As a small group we eventually gave up and moved onto another study because it wasn’t worth it. I won’t be finishing the rest of this study (more than half is left) because it’s not that good.
I hate to leave a negative review, but I’m disappointed in the study. While I’m not a writer or a great thinker, I’ll put up with misspelled words or grammar mistakes, but a poorly constructed study to make a point I can’t understand, I don’t have time for. I can see that the author really loves Jesus, but I would be more interested in seeing a study that is worth my time and actually teaches me something.
